Today Jamie asks us
What belongings do I wish for?
This is funny timing as we have been doing a major sort out in our house and getting rid of tons of stuff so the thought of adding more things is a little uncomfortable. We are not hugely materialistic people but with 3 kids it's amazing how much crap you can accumulate without even trying!!!!!
So, having ditched some junk what would I really like to invite into my house....hmm let's see...
1 A new mattress for our bed. It's a fabulous, yummy, solid wood, king size bed which was handmade for us when we lived in Fiji and is where our youngest was born. It is big enough for us to snuggle with our 3 kids and the dog on lazy mornings and my favourite place to spend time. Sadly, the mattress is now ridiculously lumpy and having spent at least a year waking up every day with sore backs we really need a new one - we tried adding a memory foam topper but guess what....it doesn't work! When your mattress gives up it gives up!
2 A new lap top - my current one crashes at least three times a day, overheats, eats emails and is generally very temperamental - none of which is any good when you run an online business...so universe if you're listening a new one really would be amazing.
3 New frying pans...I know it's not a very sexy thing to request but non-stick is not something that exists in my kitchen anymore and we cook a lot. Scraping your food from the frying pan is never a good look!
4 Okay this last one is just for me and my pleasure - Some black jersey or bamboo palazzo pants - I can never find any for someone of my height (5'11) and would really love a pair to hang out in as they look so great and hugely comfy.
And that is pretty much it. I mean a free never expires travel-ticket to everywhere and anywhere would be great and a yurt and an island of my own would be fabulous too but for now those 4 things above would actually be enough.
